This 36-year-old woman, who carries a BRCA gene mutation, chose to move forward with bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies for risk reduction. She underwent immediate staged breast reconstruction, beginning with tissue expanders and later transitioning to permanent 465 cc silicone gel implants. Autologous fat grafting helped enhance her results.
Her photos show her result three months after completion of reconstruction. She is truly thrilled with her outcome and has even experienced an improvement in her self-image — she loves her new size and feels more confident than she did before surgery.
